Caribbean Weddings

In recent years, weddings abroad have started becoming more and more popular, and it’s no wonder with romantic ceremonies in some of the world’s most breath-taking destinations costing a fraction of the traditional big white wedding.

Where else in the world is more tranquil, romantic, and jaw-droppingly beautiful than the crystal white sands of a Caribbean beach?

Whether it’s a small and intimate ceremony or an elaborate party for the whole family, the blue skies, clear seas and golden sands of the Caribbean promise you a day you will remember for the rest of your life.

Celebrate your love in sun drenched style in the laid-back luxury of the Dominican Republic.

Whether you dream of walking hand in hand admiring the sunset or if adrenaline pumped watersports are more your thing, this Caribbean island has something for every couple. With temperatures averaging 25 degrees, you needn’t worry about the weather on your big day.

Relax on the secluded beaches of Samana, pick up the pace with watersports in Bayahib, or hit Playa Dorada if you’re in the mood to party.

The paperwork required to get married in the Dominican Republic can vary from one couple to another. It has to be legalised at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and certified and translated into Spanish at the Dominican Consulate, which varies in cost. Wedding certificates can take between 6 and 12 months to be completed and posted to the UK.

When it comes to starting your marital bliss, there’s no better place than Jamaica. The Reggae rhythms, sandy beaches and stunning waterfalls create a perfect love-bird’s retreat. You can choose between a beach, hotel or garden setting for the ceremony, with a touch of Jamaican flavour from a Calypso band.

Go for a romantic stroll along Negril’s seven mile-long beach or for a dose of culture stop off at the historical Montego Bay. If you’re a fan of watersports then the action-packed Ocho Rios is a must. Whether you’re snorkelling, sunbathing or feasting on jerk chicken in a beach hut, Jamaica is perfect for every bride and groom-to-be.

Before you fly out to Jamaica, you’ll need to post your certified documents. Courier costs can vary.

If you’re looking to tie the knot in a tropical paradise with plenty to see and do, look no further than Barbados. Wedding tiaras are becoming a popular sight on the beaches of Barbados and it is not hard to see why it has become such a popular destination. With a beautiful calm West Coast, a livelier South and tropical gardens there is a resort to suit every couple’s tastes.

You can meet the green monkeys at Welshman Hall Gully. Hire a Mini Moke for a day of island exploration, watch the surfers on the east coast, or enjoy a night of rum and music at the Friday Night Fish Fry in the fishing village of Oistins.

To get married in Barbados, you must have all of your English documents translated into Spanish, which, again, can vary in cost.

Most hotels and resorts in the Caribbean offer wedding and honeymoon packages, so you don’t have to worry about any of the little details of your big day. Decoration, cakes, flowers, music and photographs are all taken care of, allowing you to lay back and let the honeymoon start early. So grab your Ray Ban sunglasses and say “I do” in a beachside pergola, and get set to start you’re happily ever after in paradise.
