One of the great fears of most travellers is that of not being able to find their luggage when they arrive at their destination. Maybe you have already had the worrying experience of arriving to a luggage carousel and seeing a number of identical suitcases all going round in circles on it as their owners look on hesitantly.
The good news is that there are a few simple tips to avoid this happening to you. The following are the best ways to make sure that your cases and bags don’t end up in the wrong hands by mistake.
Choose an Unusual Colour
If you look at most luggage carousels then you will see a lot of black suitcases and bags going round on them. Black is a great colour for luggage but it isn’t your only option by any means. If you look at a well stocked luggage website like the one at www.caseluggage.com then you will find that they come in a variety of shapes and sizes as well as colours these days. If you can find one which suits your personality and stands out from the crowd as well then this is great. To see my personal favourite click here.
Add a Tag
Luggage tags are great for making absolutely sure that your suitcase ends up in the right hands. You can buy them at little cost and all it takes is a few minutes to write on some details and then attach them to your luggage. Not everyone likes to use tags on their bags and cases but they certainly do a good job of identifying your possessions. Tags now come in a variety of designs as well, so you can choose one you like the look of and which looks like it will be easy to spot from a distance.
Put on Something Colourful
Even if you don’t use luggage tags you can still add something distinctive to your cases. If you are about to leave home and realise that your luggage isn’t very distinctive you could tie a ribbon or a piece of material to the handle. Obviously there are other people who use this trick as well but the chances of someone with the same case putting on the same type of material in the same way are pretty slim. You might even think that this makes your luggage look prettier as well.
Mark the Bottom
A more discreet way of identifying your bags is to put a mark on the bottom with something like a highlighter pen. This is a good idea for smaller and lighter items, as heavier ones might be difficult to turn over to check the bottom on.
Clearly the above isn’t an exhaustive list of the different things you can do to make your luggage stand out from the crowd. If you are a creative person then it could be fun coming up with some other ways of doing this. All it takes is a little bit of thought and a few minutes of action and it might just save you from a lot of hassle.
